"MEGAS SEIRIOS" Publications attended the Thessaloniki International Book Fair (16 - 19 May 2024)
This is one of the largest events in the recent years organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, at the premises of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition-Helexpo.
During the first day, we participated in the events of the 2nd International Conference of Book Professionals, and at the same time, as part of the B2B Professionals program organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture for Greek and foreign publishers, we held numerous meetings with representatives of foreign publishing houses and literary representatives from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and other countries.
In the following days, the meetings continued with a number of publishers and literary representatives from America, Brazil, France, Germany, Mexico, India, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, who showed great interest in our books and the work of Omilos as a whole, with many proposals and discussions for cooperation.
Special mention should be made to the offer we received for four of our books from the Hanover Square Press publishing house of the HARPERCOLLINS US Group, one of the five largest in the world.
We also had the honour and pleasure of receiving an invitation to participate in the New Delhi International Book Fair in India from the representative of the Ministry of Education of India, in the framework of the fellowship programme there, to meet Indian publishers and explore possible collaborations.
At the Bookfair we met and talked with the Deputy Minister of Culture Mr. Christos Dimas, while we also met the President of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture Mr. Nikos Koukis, with whom we discussed the work of Omilos and expressed to him our congratulations for the excellent organization of the bookfair.
Finally, we had the pleasure of meeting the President of the Sharjah Book Authority, the country of honour at the I.B.F, A.E. Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, founder and CEO of the Kalimat Group, the largest publishing group in the Arab countries, with whom we arranged a meeting to discuss prospects for cooperation.
